Dear Mr. President;
The Yulin Dog Meat Eating Festival's Actions Need to be stopped immediately. We the people, those who are compassionate and respectful to all animal life are coming together united in hopes that you will set aside this barbaric tradition and put the safety of innocent lives first - instead of permitting the brutality, inhumanity, torturous and slaughter of thousands of dogs as mere celebration to cruelty.
For years this festival has been permitted to go on - sacrificing life to fulfill the needs and demands of those who obviously have no consideration for life, and it is placing a inhumane and barbaric stain upon the image and reputation of your country - a stain that if not solved will tarnish the future generations to come.
As Mahatma Gandhi once said "The Greatness of a Nation and Its Moral Progress can be judged by the way its Animals are Treated" but with this cruelty and inhumanity that so many put animals through, and Governments that allow this to occur has truly turned a blind eye from becoming a great nation, showing a role of Great Cruelty, by permitting the butcher, torture, skinning alive and slaughtering thousands of dogs, mistreatment and inhumane actions that only show failure to Earth's Creatures and the decreasing hope in humanity.
Is this truly the outcome that we want to leave behind?
We need to unite as a WORLD and make a stand and demand that this festival be banned, and innocent lives saved, for all life is worth fighting for - without life where would the world be? It is a disgrace to permit the cruelty and barbaric torture of man's best friend, and all animals -- We need to start caring instead of ignoring and turning away - SILENCE IS NOT THE ANSWER - TAKING ACTION IS.

ReplyDeleteso far there are lots of asian in remote area despise people eats beef, do you guys know why?? because they use cattle of buffalo to plow their padies and transport carriages, so those animals are recognised as a family member...even when they retired, they are still fed unitil dies naturelly....think about it! eating dogs vs eating beef..haha I felt really sorry for you gugs who is trying to pushing your value to someone else..
Deletechistyloo, I agree with you, zhmz you are most certainly an idiot! While I disagree with eating dogs and cats I understand that different countries use different animals for food. That, to me is not the issue here. A lot of these dogs and cats are stolen from peoples homes/ yards. Not only that but how they are treated would make any decent persons skin crawl. They are stuffed into tiny cages that would be more suitable for chickens, no food, no water, shitting and pissing on themselves and any others jammed into the crates, tossed in these cages off the tops of trucks, boiled alive, skinned alive. I don't know where you come from but here in Canada, we have strict laws to protects all animals whether they are pets or food. We may all never agree on which animals are friends and which are food but one things for certain and that's that the torture that some animals endure should NEVER be acceptable no matter what country your from. So maybe you should do some research because your ignorance on this issue is astounding.

ReplyDeleteWhat are you? Are you even human? When you hear those animals cries and whimpers do you not have a heart. There is other stuff to eat besides cats and dogs. These are people's pets not things you can make a FESTIVALS out of. How can you even look at your self in the mirror? These words don't even begin to express how horrible this is. Would you want any of these things to happen to you? You might think that animals don't have souls but if they didn't have souls how could they follow commands and learn all the things they learn. Do you look them in the eyes when you kill them? Because if you did you would see the pain and know that what you are doing is terrible and inhumane. You take dogs from people homes and drop them by a rope attached to a car. If you don't think they have souls then how do u have a soul? Get a life and start thinking about other things than yourselves.

'torturous' should be 'torture'
'sacrificing life' - perhaps you should specify in what way they are sacrificing life, - we aren't trying to turn them vegetarian.
'to fulfill the needs' - This doesn't convey the right message, this practice is not fulfilling a need it is perpetuating a barbaric and ignorant tradition.
'who obviously have no consideration for life' - also not helping the argument, it's a specific form of life that we are trying to protect in this particular petition so I would advise sticking to the point.
'a inhumane' - should be 'an inhumane'
'the future generations to come' - is repetition, try just 'future generations' or 'generations to come'
The Gandhi quote has some random capitalisation in it that looks a bit strange.

'is this truly the outcome that we want to leave behind' - You don't really leave behind an outcome, this could be said 'is this really the legacy you want to leave behind?'
In the last part I'm not sure whether this is part of the letter or just a general notice to those signing the petition but if you're trying to appeal to the Chinese I don't think the phrase 'man's best friend' is going to be very effectual, they do not traditionally hold this same western view of canines so it may be wise to leave that part out.
It seems to need a rounding off or some kind of conclusion.
It would be useful to have someone else read through this if it is actually going to be sent, in its current form it will not have much of an impact.
Please take this as the constructive criticism it is intended as, I want this to succeed as much as you all

So, whosoever kills a dog shall bring himself misfortune and ill fate and curse of the Gods who created such a wonderful species of animal to protect us and give us company and provide us with lively entertainment. Beware of doing such heinous act or else you shall have to repay the same by the way of torture and pain in the future. Stop killing dogs and other animals and birds, several of which are near extinction or already extinct. Killing and devouring animals and birds for pleasure is one day going to wipe out all such human beings from the earth to cleanse the earth of such evil tradition and belief. Stop killing or the curse of mother nature shall make your life greatly miserable in the way of natural calamity which no government of any country has the power to stop or prevent.

Would you Mr President like to be treated in such a fashion? Have you stopped and thought of the devastating pain and anxiety these dogs have and are going through. I hope all you people eating these poor animals, who have been through so much probably to get a good home after the last one, some are lucky though, someday think back on this and you just fall to pieces, try to change your ways. You are truly SICK people. Animals are alive and have a heart and a soul and you just snatch all the happiness away as you skin them, butcher them, slaughter them. All your doing is killing lives each day. You can be considered a murderer! You know that? This is SICK. I hope you one day feel the pain of what you've done to these poor animals who have done nothing but try to make people like you happy. They're kind and could love you. I know I really hate people like you. It's hard to see thousands of lives like these sweet creatures of all kinds being killed. Now that I think about it....I consider you a true monster. ReplyDeletei'm not saying that this is ok but is it worser than a chicken eating festival? i know dogs are mens best friends but in the end an animal is an animal. we in europe or america do not know how dog meat tastes because it is a social taboo but imagine if it was not. what would be if you could get dog meat as easy as pork? dogs also may be more intelligent but pigs are too and no one beats an eye about pigs being eaten. ok so in the end i'm just saying consider the other side and do not look at things just from your point of view. the conditions in which these animals are raised are inexcusable and that goes for almost every animal we eat.
