    Each year seal species are not only facing and enduring the threats of environmental issues that are affecting their welfare and well-being, they are also being victimized and killed by the inhumane and cruel process of the annual commercial seal harvest --- being bludgeoned in the head with such tools as hakapiks or shot in order to reach quota to fulfill some demands for seal products.

     This so-called "humane" and "sustainable" harvest, as the Government of Canada and few others, define it to be, is nothing more than a needless and sickening slaughter that is constantly being promoted, defended and financially subsidized by the Government themselves --- even though there is a declining market for such demands and that already major markets internationally have placed bans on the importation of such products.

Dear Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Honourable Members of Canadian Government:

 RE: CANADA'S COMMERCIAL SEAL HUNT

     As a member of humanity, citizen of Canada, and President of Raise Ur Paw, a federally incorporated not-for-profit, I have always believed that our country has been one in which is the best place to reside -- that we as a country believe in the rights of individuals and that life truly means something imperative than just mere existence.  We believe in fairness, compassion and so much more that makes it literally feel like a true family and unity.  A life in which even my daughter should feel proud and empowered to live by.  

           It is with this belief and with the strong hope that this imperative and heartfelt letter will reach your attention and hearts, urging your immediate action to take a historic step to ban the commercial seal hunt and remove any involvement of the Canadian Government's part to the annual seal harvest.   As well as hoping all recipients in whom we have emailed this letter too will support and urge you to do the same as well.

    As political figures of power and influence, and public servants to the people of the country of Canada, like myself and countless others, that you open your hearts and allow our message and voices to reach your humanity --- to observe the reality of the inhumanity and cruelty that goes hand in hand with such a barbaric harvest of life, to view the imperative and numerous evidence that occurs during these annual seal hunts and the major worldwide markets placing bans on the importation of seal products.  How much further does one must go to gain your attention -- how many more lives must endure or be subjected to such inhumanity before such an issue can no longer be ignored?

     These seals, in which are sentient beings are enduring horrific acts of brutality ( even pups which are between the ages of 3 weeks to 3 months old) -- and that the evidence and facts that are constantly being brought through growing documentation and images which present barbaric attacks on them with such instruments as "hakapiks" or shot in the head -- even some claims that some are even skinned while still being alive, as well as major worldwide markets placing bans upon the importation of seal products should be enough proof that grasps your attention for dire action to ban the commercial seal hunt, instead of turning a blind eye, ignore or create attempts to defend and promote in order to keep this dying industry on life support.

and yet it still continues on.....

       This contentious matter should not be something to debate --- or have more decades of individuals and organizations around the globe continuously regurgitate the imperative facts and evidence in order to attempt further to gain your attention, while hundreds of thousands of innocent lives endure this form of cruelty and death in order to fulfill some market that is no longer in demand for.  Today should be the day that we foster a kinder and compassionate world and future for all living beings, and make the efforts to achieve such goals that will better our world, instead of leaving a blemish that will not only jeopardize the lives of such sentient beings but the future generations of ours as well.

    So is this really how we truly want our country to be observed as or have this type of reputation? Do we not want to show and be role-models of compassion and humanity towards innocent life?  

     We believe that it is our duty and responsibility, as individuals and members of the human race to urge with much pressure and urgency to reach out to the Canadian Government and those involved to help make a difference and stop the annual seal hunt - to rethink their stand and remove their participation ( financial through subsidies) and find real solution to this issue, perhaps a federal sealing buyout, instead of continuing down this path that continues to affect our country and the lives of beloved seals.

    Unity in numbers can help make a difference --- if you want to do more than just write letters or raise awareness (via social media) there are plenty of organizations and groups in which you can join and check out to see if they are holding any demonstrations or protests within your community or surrounding areas that you can participate in.

     Actively being part of a demonstration shows support and increases the reach and chances at achieving the goal in which is set, even if you find that there is no demonstration that is near you, you can create your own  --- gather resources & materials needed (posters, leaflets etc), recruit other individuals to join in and make a stand with you and take to the streets to educate, encourage, empower and Save! It is as simple as that.

Ban Canada Seal Hunt: Reaching Out To Canadian Government

Dear Government of Canada & Political Figures:

     We are writing to you in urgent hopes of gaining your attention and support against an issue that is costing over hundred of thousands of innocent lives a year for mere human profit and unnecessary products within Canada.

     This issue is the Canada's Commercial Seal Hunt, a "harvest" in which innocent seal species and their pups are being inhumanely bludgeoned and shot in the head for such production and distribution of seal oil, fur, aphrodisiacs and more --- and it is this form of treatment and brutal process that we are in dire need of your support and action to bring such cruelty to an end once and for all.

      Over the years countless organizations and even some political figures within the Canadian Government have attempted with much effort to blind society through their statements and presentations that what is happening to defenseless seals is something necessary and once again "humane", as they constantly put it --- trying with much desperation to lead individuals to believe that animal organizations and animal angels are merely misinformed or bringing forth the stretching of truth in order to persuade and manipulate those in order to shut down this, what some call an "imperative industry to Canada!" --- but in all due respect, the countless information and proof of the cruelty and inhumanity that goes hand in hand with this industry speaks for itself.

      We acknowledge the fact that sealing had been a huge industry within Canada, but as the years are progressing, the reality of such a hunt is coming further and further into the light -- leading not only much outrage and concern worldwide, but also decreasing and almost perishing market for such products, leading to continuous bans from other countries in which has been brought into effect due to the nature of this hunt.  So with these pull-away from the commercial seal hunt, the ultimate question remains.... Do you believe that the Canada Commercial Seal Hunt is worth investing taxpayers hard-earned dollars into it???

      We believe that a possible solution, in which we read about,  would be very beneficial to not only the innocent lives that this hunt effects, but also to the investors and those within the sealing industry --- giving them a chance to free themselves & gain back their investments that they have put forth within the sealing industry --  a complete federal buyout!    This solution would remove the Canadian Government's stand and investment,  give back to those who have invested into the industry, bring a stop to the seal hunt, and allow funding, in which the Government used to subsidize the hunt,  to go towards other issues and concerns (such as education, medical, etc.)

End Canada Commercial Seal Hunt: Our Open Letter To Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Dear Prime Minister Justin Trudeau & Canadian Government:

   We at Raise Ur Paw and individuals of humanity worldwide are extending our reach to you in hopes of gaining your attention and urging your immediate action to not only abandon the efforts to continue the commercial seal hunt, but to bring to an end this perishing industry in which has put blemish upon Canada.

    This urgency for action and attention has been requested for numerous years -- stemming from individuals, organizations and even celebrities who have worked determined and dedicated through protests, presentations, images and evidence in order to gain the support of the Government and its Prime Ministers to do what is needed to be done in order to save and protect the innocent lives of our voiceless from such inhumanity, cruelty and threat.

    Yet even with the extreme amount of awareness, markets globally for such products and distributions of seal diminishing, plus collapses, bans/prohibits of imports/exports from major trading partners (US & Eur) the Canadian Government and the Federal Fisheries Department are still blinded by their own reasons that this industry is humane and sustainable and even quotas of seals is being increased for products such as fur, seal oil (health supplement) and aphrodisiacs (things that I am sure we can live without)-- and that through this blindness, tens of millions of dollars from taxpayers has been distributed as subsidies to fund this dying industry.

     How can we as a civilized society excuse such actions that are being displayed by the commercial seal hunt and the role of the Canadian Government, to ignore the fact that this industry is causing an extreme threat along with climate change against the populations of seals, that it is giving the sense of unrealistic hope to those participating and made investments in the commercial seal hunt that things will get better, even though evidence is clearly showing that such ways of thinking is just a hope that is dying along with this industry.

    Through the outpouring of outrage and protest --- perhaps we can come to a beneficial solution, a strategy in which may just very well be a positive dealing for this issue and that is a Federal Sealing Industry Buyout: According to a poll that was conducted by Ipsos Reid,  between Dec. 7, 2009 - Jan 24th, 2010 (according to report) it revealed that half of Newfoundland Sealers (holding an opinion) supported a Federal Buyout of the Sealing Industry.  

     This buyout would not only compensate sealers and vessel owners (according to report) but it would also relieve the burden from taxpayers whose monies are going towards subsidies of such commercial seal hunt, and therefore such funding could be distributed to other issues that are in desperate need of attention and funding, and thus allowing the Canadian Government to bow away from the ties and participation it has with the commercial seal hunt.

      We believe that we can come together as a unity and create positive impacts and differences -- and that with leadership and influential support we can truly show the greatness of our nation and world for not just humanity, but for all life.

IS THIS RIGHT? USDA BLACK OUT ANIMAL WELFARE REPORTS

IMPERATIVE INFORMATION THAT WE ALL NEED TO KNOW!!!

   We as animal angels not only raise our voices & take actions for our innocent lives in need, but we also depend upon the assistance/duties and responsibilities of Government Agencies, in which are responsible for animal welfare and well being, to play their active roles in making sure that such enforcement and laws are in place to protect our voiceless as well.

   But it appears, according to reliable sources, that perhaps some certain agencies cannot be depended on, especially when you read reports about how the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) suddenly purged animal welfare information from a Government website --- literally taking it away from the public's view.

I, like many other individuals, found these actions to be not only unjustifiable, but also suspicious as well --- considering that countless investigators & watchdogs etc depend upon this imperative information in order to further their fight for the rights and welfare of animals around the country, and allows the public the freedom of being informed of such crucial information and reports.

    These reports included information on such places as Seaworld, dog breeders and puppy mills, zoos and circuses, and even taxpayer funded animal testing labs, among many others. Places in which have raised countless eyebrows and concerns, and now with the actions of the USDA more red flags and issues regarding such a step is now raising more attention and concern.

   This poor and unjustifiable strategy on the USDA's part and the part of the administration is only protecting the actions of cruelty and inhumanity and permitting offenders/abusers a free pass by basically hiding away within the shadows this information from the public's knowledge and view-- not to mention, violating consumer's protection and freedom of knowledge as well.

    The USDA is in charge of enforcing the Animal Welfare Act (AWA), therefore their responsibilities and duties are for the animals & their welfare and well-being --- so why dispose of such imperative information that could literally help save and protect innocent lives from actions of cruelty and inhumanity?  the whole scenario seems to be a let down and failure to our innocent.

    We as humanity should have the right to answers and knowledge of what goes on behind closed curtains of such incorporation and industries --- and be provided this imperative information from such agencies that hold that duty within their hands to protect innocent life.  We need to make the steps and put the pressure upon the USDA to restore animal cruelty information back on their website --- and show individuals of the world, where they exactly stand.
